“Do you have a concession card,” the girl at the cinema asks Mum.
She shakes her head.
“Oh is it only recent?” The girl says with a gesture to me in the wheelchair.
I can see Mum’s mind ticking over just how much of the story to tell.
“Oh yeah, she has just had her leg amputated. A bit.”
The girl’s eyes widen.
“Oh she looks like a lovely young girl and seems to be in good spirits. Is she in good spirits?”
I can see Mum trying to hold back a laugh as she nods.
A concession for Mum and Dad and a free ticket for the poor little girl in the wheelchair.
There’s a hot tip if you want cheap tickets at the movies, head along in a wheelchair.
